If you’re planning a celebrity golf tournament we know you’re more worried about satellite installation and holding off the rain than you are the little things but some of them need the attention they’ll get later if you don’t give it now! Here are a few things not to forget while you’re still in the planning process:
Parking: Not just “do I have enough spots” but possibly “should I hire someone?” The more people you have directing cars they smoother the whole process is going to be – think about investing a couple grand to make the logistics easier for yourself.
Signage: Sure you’ve got a couple of huge billboards and an ENTER and EXIT sign for the guests but what about the smaller signs? Make tons of bathroom signs as well as those for concessions and don’t forget about warning signs that speak to cameras, outside food a drink and staying off the grass.
Permits: You’re going to have vendors at your event most likely but you need to check with the city and make sure you’ve got all the permits you need. If they’ll be selling food or wares you need to get involved now.

If you have an organization and are planning on hosting a celebrity golf event, the best way to get the biggest celebrites to join, is to offer endorsement spots on commercial ads and billboards ads during the event, and to find a cause that the celebrity would like to tie their name to. So, depending on the organization, and what the charity is for, and where the money is going to go, this is going to determine which celebrities are going to decide to take part in the celebrity event you are holding. So, knowing which celebrities support the cause, and which ones have a current movie or product coming out for sale, and offering an endorsement deal, is the best way to get these celebrities to come to your event.

So, rather than try to contact celebrity by celebrity, you have to find those who are actually going to be willing to join the event, rather than taking a chance and just reaching out to every celebrity you can think of. So, hosts have to take the time to find the celebrities which can add value to the event, and those who will be willing to take part in it.

The Children’s Miracle Network, Justin Timberlake’s Shriners Open or even the American Century Golf Tournament. All three of these events have one thing in common. They all raise a significant amount of money for their respective charities through endorsements, sponsorship, gate receipts, and more.
There is a lot of planning that goes into hosting a golf tournament, from marketing and promotion to picking out complimentary golf packages for the players. There are a few points that should not be overlooked. First and foremost, a tournament needs celebrity players. These can either be professional golfers, movie actors, lawmakers, CEO’s or sports figures. Celebrities draw huge crowds and can bring in even more sponsorship money. Someone like Charles Barkley, who is an ex-NBA player and current commentator for TNT television, is a great person to have. Not only does he interact with the spectators, but his golf swing is definitely a site to see. Secondly, it is important to have a great course and venue that can accomodate the number of people visiting and watching. When people come to watch golf, they want to be able to get close enough to the players while enjoying the surroundings and magnificient landscape. It is also important to have food, beverages, and memorablia that indulges the spectators to enjoy themselves and bring home lasting memories. Next, it is important to have several organizations for sponsorship levels. Without these contributions from companies, charities would not receive the maximum financial generosity. Typically these levels can be broken down into gold, silver, bronze, etc. based on the amount of the donation.
Lastly, people are needed to help the event run smoothly. From the rules officials marking drop zones to the volunteers that commit their free time. A tournament is as only good as the people who make it happen. As you can see, a perfect golf tournament takes a lot of planning and preparation before golfers tee off on hole number one.

What could be better than playing golf and raising money for your favorite charity at the same time? Golf Outings, or Tournaments, are a fun and successful addition to a charity’s fund-raising plan.

You should allow a minimum of six months to plan your inaugural event; there are many details that need to be finalized. Once you select a date and venue, which has agreed to provide discounted rates for your outing, you will need to discuss the minimum golfers required, formats available ( shot-gun or tee times and scramble, shamble or best ball). Then contact the cater to determine your menu options. These direct costs will help determine your entry fee; be reasonable, since most local charities will be vying for the same audience in a community as you are.

Once you establish sponsorship packages, assemble a committee of volunteers to solicit golfers, in-kind gifts for an auction or raffle, tee and hole sponsors, and cash donations. Purchase decorative at least 36 Tee Sign holders and encourage your committee to sell them to non-golfing friends. This income, alone should cover your food and golf costs, allowing the rest of your efforts to be net profit for the charity. Good luck!

One of the best ways to raise money for charity is by hosting a golf tournament. It’s a great way to raise considerable funds at a venue people find to be relaxing and fun. So what are some tips on how to plan a successful event?

First of all, most golf courses offer a standard golf “outing” fee; a per head charge for golf and refreshments. This fee covers their costs and margin they wish to make on the event. The charity event planner can charge any amount above the per head fee to create the proceeds for the charity.Confused? Here ‘s a little help . To maximize the return on the investment with the golf course selected, other revenue raising activities can be used, such as raffles for golf equipment, a closest to the pin and driving contest, all by collecting extra money from the participants as they make their way around the course. Another high value return is to sell holes sponsorships, where individuals or businesses can have their signs or logos prominently displayed on each tee box.

Upon conclusion of the event, it’s important to provide prizes or trophies for the participants; overall winner(s) and even fun consolation prizes such as highest score.
